The Neighbors' Initiative was founded in 2013 by Tannur Ali and a group of Neighbors on the North Side of Albany, Georgia who want to make positive impacts on our community through inter-generational work, pooling resources, regular meetings and serious discussions about what is needed, how we can make it happen and doing the work to get it all done.
It is never easy to begin the work of community organizing and empowerment. The Neighbors Initiative is actively looking for volunteers, sponsors, donors and partners who are motivated to make a positive impact in communities throughout Albany, Georgia. Desiring to work especially with indviduals who are residents of HUD Housing and interested in grass-roots action to make an impact in their own communities, our initiatives are and will continue to be examples of what is possible when people come together to make things happen for themselves and their neighbors.
If you are a resident of the Albany Housing Authority and interested in becomming a part of The Neighbors' Initiative, or would like information on how to get your community involved, please contact us through the CONTACT page on this site or at: 229-886-0901.
